    Three stars, only because I haven't tried the pizza yet. But let me tell you, I just got their ziti and meatballs, a big side of sausage and peppers, and chicken with mushroom and garlic in white sauce over penne. Oh yeah, garlic bread too. And it was all damned delicious. Unpretentious, home cooked Italian. You know what else makes it better? That all came in under an unpretentious 23 bucks (not including tip). Rock on, Roccos.

    I am a displaced pizza lover: I love Chicago style pizza, but live in NY area. I came here on a recommendation, but was very disappointed, even accounting for NY style. There was no grease on the pizza. I mean come on, NY pizza should be dripping with it. I also got some Garlic Knots, and they were a lil bland; they needed some salt.

    Although I have only gotten pizza here, I absolutely LOVE it. I think it is a lot harder than you think to get a good slick in NYC, and so far this is my favorite, and I'm a BIG pizza eater. I work in the area and come here at least 1-2x/week :)

    Howdy Yelpers. Please join me in my campaign to rename Rocco's Pizza Joint "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Slice." My point? You won't remember the experience. There's nothing terribly wrong with the pizza, but nothing quite right about it either. Feel free to choose your favorite slice from their unremarkable selection of forgettable combos. Try to crack the steely indifference of the three dudes who make the pies. (My money's on the dudes!) Trust me: upon stepping back out onto 7th Avenue, the meal will be erased from your memory. Permanently. I gotta admit, though --- I find myself intrigued by Rocco. Who is he? What makes him tick? Why is he never around? Why is his pizza bitch-slapped by DiGiorno's frozen? So many questions, so few answers.

    This happens to be one of my top pizza places my hood. Their garlic knots are deliciouso. Their white slice is amazing and takes me back to my childhood . I also love the gramma slice. Also if you're watching your figure they 75% fat free mozzarella which is definitely cool!

    I like this place. Their grandma slice and cheese calzone are absolutely delightful. They also serve a very fresh slice of pizza. Great texture, fresh mozzarella cheese, with every bite you can taste the freshness of all the ingredients. Its just a bit overpriced, but they do serve really good Italian food. A slice and Snapple is good enough for me. They have tasty garlic knots too.

    Fast and cheap, regular slices are $2.75, they have a $10 minimum on credit cards, there's about 7 tables in the place, no power outlets if you need to charge your phone (I did so I checked). I had the Grandma Slice as all the other reviews here mentioned, and it was a pretty tasty slice of pizza. They have a decent selection of bottled juices and sodas (Boylan's and Snapple and San Pellegrino and others) as well as fountain drinks. Good place for a snack.

    I'm not too familiar with pizza joints around this area but I came here with a friend who is a regular customer and works in the area. Nice little spot and people kept coming in and out but it wasn't too crowded given the time of day. They have a great lunch special of 2 slices and a drink for about $5.50 or $5.75, a good deal if you're on a budget. My friend took this deal but I decided on a regular slice and a white slice. Once I placed my order is when I realized they had delicious grandma slices....next time for sure. Ok, now, for the pizza. Huge slices! Normally I am a two slice kind of girl but after I was done with the first slice I felt like I was going to take a nap right there on the table. Don't worry, I finished my second slice and it was really good. I just felt super sleepy right after. So, my tip to you would be order 1 slice first and see if you can handle it. These are pretty big and tasty slices.

    3.5 stars. Aside from the abundance of 2 Bros in the area, places you can walk in and grab a good slice aren't overly common. Rocco's definitely hits the nail on the head there though, and when I stumbled in (this is a theme in my reviews), I was pretty satisfied with what I got. The grandma slice was definitely above average, while the cheese slice was not, but no complaints. The prices are pretty Chelsea.

    Lots of great pizza places in the area. Ordered through seamless a small cheese pizza and we were pleasantly surprised with the size of pie we got. It was 6 huge slices and came hott. Pizza was a little on the greasy side and nothing to rave about so that's why it's 3 stars. Did it said it satisfy my pizza craving? Hell yea!!!!

    Came here last night on a whim with Ingrid S. after attending the Lollpalooza of career fairs last night. We were on a professional mini-bender and in desperate need of noms. Cheesy noms. As per usual, neither of us were craving anything in particular and nothing in the immediate neighborhood was looking particularly appetizing...we finally decided that we wanted cheesy...I was craving pasta...but Italian places in this hood are to be savored for more formal dinner plans - not for mini-bender munchies time. Pizza. YEAH, PIZZA WORKS AND THEY MIGHT EVEN SELL PASTA! I was sold. To be honest I would have gotten pasta here had they had something creamy inspired or preferably, freakin' Alfredo sauce. Between you, me and the billions of people that visit Yelp on a daily basis - I love Alfredo sauce. I can't get enough of the stuff. It's my spirit ani-sauce. It's my spirit sauce. But they do have regular tomato sauce pasta, lasagna, some salads, garlic knots and other rando Italian-inspired options on their menu - all reasonably priced. Between it looking clean, having a Department of Health "A" grade and smelling yummy inside we were sold on making this our home for the next 35 minutes. We ended up getting a cheestastic cheesy calzone (which came served with a small side and a slice of sweet, Italian sausage pizza. We went halfsies on both things and to be honest, both were actually quite decent. I would totally go back for that cheese calzone, it was cheesegasmic.

    I walk past this place all the time and finally came here Saturday afternoon for a hangover slice of pizza. Worked wonders, felt significantly better after, maybe not a direct correlation but hey. They have a few good whole wheat options like grilled vegetable or broccoli rabe sausage pizza. I opted for the former. Delicious but quite greasy. They advertise gluten free options outside but it's only available if you buy the entire pizza. Besides pizza they've got Salads, garlic bread, lasagna, calzones and some chicken dishes. Nice quaint place, just wish pizza was less greasy. I'll probably come back when the craving strikes again.

    Came here about a month ago after an open bar social media event. Go figure. I'm also behind, I know. BUT Stephy and I were drunk, per usual, and on the hunt for oddly sushi I think at the time in Chelsea. But the place she was thinking of had shuttered. We were having no luck and ran into this. They have an A rating (mega bonus). They even sell pasta. Okay! But between the two of us we split just a regular slice of sausage/cheese and a cheese calzone. Shockingly actually pretty good. The calzone was really excellent and served with tomato sauce on the side. Both warm and filled to the brim with ricotta and a nice crust that wasn't too thick and or doughy. Also, pretty cheap. If I were drunk and again in the neighborhood I would definitely remember this spot!

    This review for lunch is long overdue. My food travels take me to Rocco's as the logo appears very 1950's Retro, yet the inside is far from being Retro. One sausage Calzone $6.50 (includes sales tax) + waiting for fifteen eternal minutes = indigestion for three hours!! I waited for a very long time for my order to be heated which the server never called out my order's name nor alerted me that it is ready for pickup. OKAY, so I stood in front of his face to attain my order!! Overall, the sausage Calzone was extremely greasy and dripping with oil. There was so much Ricotta cheese everywhere and only two measly pieces of sausage which was skimmed and dupe for quality. A takeout menu is available which my copy has immediately been discarded. Why does anyone want greasy food to clog the arteries, increase blood pressure and spike one's cholesterol level?? Minimal seating is available. No facilities are available for customers. No written sales receipt is produced. Staff are impersonal and callous.

    I never had a slice or pasta that I didn't LOVE here at Rocco's. I dream about this place a night when I get pizza cravings!! Sauce to cheese ratio is perfection and their crust is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, like a NY slice is SUPPOSED to be!! Thumbs up and love this little gem in Chelsea :)

    My neighborhood pizza joint in my work area. If i'm craving a pizza slice for lunch this is the place for me to go. From the exterior its misleading it doesn't look like a pizza joint but more of a diner 50's frontage. Walk in and you'll find your typical pizza oven and counter. I'm a fan of the Eggplant slice, meaty slices of breaded fried eggplant, and the grandma slice. Crispy on the edges and soft on the center with a great savory pizza sauce. Go for the garlic knots as well. Crispy, garlicy, and soft breaded knots that go well with their house pizza sauce served on the side.

    This place is an absolute hidden gem. The traditional slices are above average - thin, crispy crusts, they snap when they fold, good amount of grease - it has all of the quality of what a good ol' new york city triangle shaped slice should have. The grandma slices are phenomenal. I can't think of a better square slice in Manhattan. There's also four types of square slices - besides traditional, there's whole wheat, mixed vegetables, and a sausage + broccoli rabe slice that is fantastic. The chicken parm sandwich was solid but could have been better - there were some tough pieces of chicken, but it was still enjoyable. I still give it 5 stars based just on the pizza. This place should get more attention. In a different location with some marketing, this would be a buzzed about pizza place.

    My office orders from this place frequently. Every Thursday G-Ma or Cheese pie. The meat lovers is awesome but heavy. Margarita is solid but the veggie is delicious. Not too spendy either. We've used Roccos for parties as well. They deliver on time and are very easy to work with.

    I ordered some gluten free pizza from Rocco's pizza joint along with my buddy and my girlfriend (whom both ate regular pizza, because they are not celiac like me). Upon delivery, I smelled something great and was excited as to what my mouth was going to be treated with.. We dive into the food and the shimmering, hot and delicious smelling non-gluten free pizza cast a colossal shadow on my melancholy farce of a pizza. In case you can't see the timestamp on this review, I'll remind you that I am writing from the year 2014 where tasty gluten free pizza has existed..no, has flourished for years now. This pizza reminded me of the cobble stone steps I walked upon en route to reaching my hotel lobby, inside of which, my mouth would later be ruthlessly abused by this abomination. If you could picture old brown rice mixed with slabs of wet cardboard, that is the creation that would have taken a piss on my pizza to make it taste so ferociously vile. What is crazy about this whole situation, though, is that prior to writing this review, I came across multiple others that said the staff couldn't give less of a f*ck that their customers are even remotely happy with their experience, which begs the question of why this heinous shit stained excuse of a restaurant pathetically operated by miserable, bootlicking parasites is still in business, and hasn't been shut down for being literally hitler. I hope that anyone with celiac disease such as myself gets to my review before they, too, are accosted by the furthest thing from pizza in the entire universe.

    Rocco's gramma slices are quickie life savers and a little secret how good it is. No matter how starved I am if I'm within 10 blocks I will bypass everything else and hop here. I've eaten here over 5 years yet never gotten beyond my fav because it's so reliably delicious and satisfying so can't say how other dishes are and won't try flat slices when the alternate costs just buck or so more. Worth it. Don't be cheap or you get what you pay for. They use fresh ingredients, real moz, olive oil, fresh sauce, and if you're lucky they'll remember to put a sprig of fresh basil on top like they used to do all the time last year. It's basil guys, don't cry recession, it costs nothing. Grow it in a pot on the rooftop for free! ; ) The new addition of those little Italian SANPELLEGRINO Limonata and Aranciata soda's are a perfect compliment, now I don't go next door to the deli for it. Decor is dated retro but cozy-you can hang out a while and not be rushed, the guys are mellow and friendly, radio always playing bad pop tunes but somehow fits with the place and isn't grating. Great pizza joint all around and a quiet oasis from the hubub passing by. Tell your friends, sotto-voce.

    Stopped in late around 12:00 since this place was around the corner from our hotel. Staff a bit srcstic, and funny I have to admit. Pizza was good not the best pizza in NYC but good when you ate hugry. Also got a make your own salad was a Greek was very good. Good if you are in Chelsea and need a late night snack.

    This review is for people who are strictly gluten free: I'd give one star, but I didnt actually eat here, so i want to be fair. I went in to Roccos with my nephew who loves pizza. I have celiac and need to be gluten free. I ordered and paid for a gluten free pizza. They took out a prepared crust and put it on the counter - not on a sheet of foil. That was the first risk of wheat cross-contamination - but I looked the other way figuring they knew what they were doing and they must have wiped down the counter. They put the cheese and sauce on. Then they used the regular pizza paddle and put it directly into the oven. I asked if the crust was on a piece of cardboard or a tin that I didnt see. They said no. I told them that was a big risk of cross-contamination that could make someone like me very sick. I was informed that was how they always make gluten free pizza. Oops. They didnt seem to care at all that this was a problem. I asked for my money back, which they gave me. I may go back some day to give them another chance. I would request that they use a sheet of foil for the counter, paddle, and oven - and that they use a clean knife not a contaminated pizza wheel. I recommend others do the same.

    This is a small place with limited seating, but they're good at what they do, and the food is great. Strong value in terms of price and portion size. Efficient service. Ate there three times in four days on a recent visit. Miss the place something fierce now.

    My girlfriend is a picky pizza eater and she loves the margarita pizza here. I really enjoy the grandma and have also had a chicken parm sub which was really good. The guys in here are awesome even when I am drunk at 2am. Definitely a fan of this place!

    It's sad how most NY pizzerias are using the same cheese from elementary school lunch's/Elios' pizza. I know times are tough, but when you are going to charge a lot anyway, please use decent ingredients. Rocco's is one of the few joints left using proper cheeses and sauces. How do you know? Because the grease on the top of the pizza is orange, not white. Yes, $2.50 a slice is much, but that seems to be the standard price for a slice now, so I rather pay the same for better quality.

    I have to admit I picked this place, because I wanted to feel ok about eating a slice. With 75% FF mozzarella I figured this would be ok....I think I would feel better with the real thing. A slice of plain 75%FF mozzarella, taste just that. Plain. I asked for an extra cup of marinara sauce just so I could get something out of the slice....a dipping mechanism. At least that's my experience. Super fast delivery though--if you don't care about taste and want to fill up on positive calories.

    Finally! The NY pizza I have been looking for! Get the Gramma's square - there's extra sauce on top of the cheese and it's the perfect blend of crispy and soft. Yum! I dare you to eat only one square! I also love the buttery, garlicy, balls of dough thing-y's!

    Pizza's as pricey as the next place, but usually undercooked. Used to order it well done to try and fix it, but would just burn the bottom with a river on cheese on top. Also would regularly try to use their $2 coupon on their menu, but they'd always forget to take it off the receipt and you end up stiffing the delivery guy, who has no idea what you're talking about.

    We ordered from this place for pizza to be delivered to our hotel as I was starting to come down with a cold on our last night in NY :(. We got a large pepperoni, mushroom and olive pizza. It was fantastic! we ate the pizza with a bottle of wine while we watched Sunday night football. Even though I was bummed about staying in on our last night in NY, this pizza made it enjoyable and NYish. Pizza was delivered super fast!

    Get the Grandma's Slice Fresh ingredients: Sweet crushed tomatoes, select herbs, chewy Mozzarella, olive oil on a crispy crust.     Roccos serves its purpose as a solid NYC pizza joint. They have the full range of classic slices, as well as something they call the 'Gramma' pizza which is fantastic. The dishes are also good: lasagna, eggplant parm, etc. Basically, Roccos is an ideal neighborhood pizza joint. Nothing extraordinary and nothing bad. Very satisfying when you're craving a slice.

    Blech, maybe I should have gotten the pizza. I was in a rush and couldn't decide what to get for lunch so I got a chicken and eggplant sub - it was not tasty. Now I feel a bit ill.

    We were having a baby shower at my office and I had offered to make calzones. Life got in the way and I completely forgot to make them until too late the night before. Anyway, I walked into Rocco's the day of the party and asked if they sold larger calzones than the ones on the menu. They didn't but offered to make them for me from scratch! They were delicious and I was charged a very great rate. Great customer service!
